The admission takes place on offline basis. You have to go to the college in order to fill the admission form and complete the process for your admission. The eligibility for zoology hons requires you to score a percentage in your board exams equivalent/more than the cut off for Ramjas. Your best of four should include any Science subject you have studied in 10+2.

Hi Rahul, thank you for posting your query on Shiksha. Right now only the first cut-off list has been released in DU. In case of Ramjas, the cut-off for B.Sc physical science in Chemistry is 91% and in case of B.Sc Physical Science in electronics is 93%. Both the percentages are for the general category. Also the cut-off for other courses in Physical Science isn't out yet.

The first and main criteria is maths should be one of your four selected subjects in 10+2. Then comes the percentage in the subject as different colleges and universities set different cut-off marks. But 85-90% will surely help you to get maths honours.

I would say both are good. However, since in Gargi the curriculum is stricter, the classes happen more regularly. The commerce department is good both in Gargi and Ramjas. Since Ramjas is more politically active the classes get somewhat hampered but the overall discipline of the curriculum doesn't get compromised. Gargi on the other hand is more of an academic college, and all in all, a lot of professionalism is maintained.

I would admit that Miranda College, Hindu College have a better reputation than Ramjas College in terms of academics. The system is stricter and classes take place more regularly than in Ramjas College. The placement cell is good in all three, but I think in Miranda, Hindu they are a slightly tint better. The fests are also more organized in those than in Ramjas College. Ramjas College has a huge influence of student politics and hence the classes hamper somewhat, but all in all it's a fun to do college. So no matter which course you opt for, these differences are all-pervasive. Ramjas College is a more chilled out, less academic one. It's a place where you can explore yourself, people as it has a diverse culture. So if you're looking for a college which is chilled out, less competitive but where studies also happen, Ramjas College is a good choice. Otherwise, the others are also brilliant.

In order to calculate your best of four, you need to choose your subjects that have been listed in two lists. The subjects like physics, maths, history, geography, political Science and many others have been listed in the first list. Including these subjects won't cause a deduction, however that also depends upon your course and your stream. Candidate must have secured minimum 55% aggregate in Mathematics. Aggregate in Mathematics, one language and two best electives would be considered best four subjects (BFS).
Environmental Education (ISC), Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Painting, Dance, Music, Physical Education, Home Science, Engineering Drawing and all other vocational subjects are not considered as BFS.

As much as I have heard from people from the science department as well as other people, Ramjas has a good science faculty, however the same goes for KMC. The opinions based on this question is very subjective. Lot of people consider Ramjas's science faculty to be better, and others consider KMC to be better. So if you choose either, you'd be in an appropriate college for the course you want to pursue.

Hi, thank you for posting your query on Shiksha. The thing is that the last year's cut-off for B.Sc Statistics in case of Ramjas went upto the 7th cut off list, which is to say 95%. Now only the second cut off has been declared. We hope by the next or by the 4th cut-off list the percentage is hopefully going to come down to 95%. So yes, without taking much risk I can say, welcome fo Ramjas.
