What is your interest? If core branches are your preference, then go for mechanical. If you need any private jobs just go for CSE.

Hello Ketan, Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology is one of the most sought after colleges for students across India. As a result of this the minimum marks required to get into this institute of pretty high. I think you are from the state of Gujarat and for you it will be further higher since many students will prefer to take admission in this college in Surat. I am attaching a link that will give you all the required information about cutoffs for various branches and for various categories of students for admissions of previous year. Here a word of caution. Every year the ranking of the merit of the student in JEE Mains who can get into this college changes because of various factors and this should be treated only as a reference and not as the final figure.
Best wishes to you.

Yes, you can easily get the admission in this college but you have to wait for the spot counselling as before that there are very less chances of getting this college.

1 We don't have computer Science as a course in DA. The actual course is ICT- information and communication technology and I assume you are thinking the minor in CS to be computer Science. A minor is an addition to the main branch you are studying and you will have to take a couple of courses extra than general ICT students and in DA CS is Computational Science, not computer Science. Given the choices I would prefer DA because of the extended exposure it gives in various fields.

I would suggest you take CSE in SVNIT. In terms of placements also, CSE is better than mechanical in any college.
