Not true, the SAIMS MBBS course will only accept students who have passed the NEET-UG examination. It is advisable to note that according to the norms laid down in the National Medical Commission also known as NEET-UG, candidates must mandatorily clear MBBS. SAIMS adheres to this rule. Eligibility: 50% marks in 10+2 (45% for SC/ST), NEET-UG score, age between 17 – 25 years. NEET-UG cut-off: General employees – 50th percentile, SC/ST/OBC employees – 40th percentile. Admission process: MCc counselling 50 percentile for BC and MW NEET UG merit list. All the seats in the MBBS Course are filled with NEET UG.

It was set up in the year 2003 and is part of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya University. SAIMS offers undergraduate (MBBS: Undergraduate at banner 200 (150 seats) and postgraduate (MD/MS: 67 seats) courses mainly in the fields of medical science. This institute has 750 beds and it has 12 operation theatres, and 24-hour emergency services are also available. Accredited by NAAC (A+ grade) and NABH, SAIMS has a faculty-student ratio of 1:5. With daily balanced meals and hygienic circumstances, the food quality at Sri Aurobindo Institute of Medical Sciences (SAIMS) hostel mess is generally good. Over time, though some pupils find the taste monotonous. Four meals a day are offered on the menu to meet basic dietary requirements. It is appropriate for the majority of pupils because efforts are made to maintain health and hygiene standards. Nevertheless for variety, many people prefer to eat outside occasionally. In general, residents had a respectable experience with the mess facilities.

The institute has admissions through NEET-UG 85 state quota and 15% of management quota and NEET-PG only. However, SAIMS take 10% of seats for direct admission to paramedical and Diploma courses. Eligibility: 10+2, qualifying examination/entrance test/interview passing percentage 45%. Management quota seats (15%): Donor range INR 2-5 lakhs, tuition INR 12.5 lakhs/year. NRI/Foreign quota seats (5%): 5-10 Lacs donation, INR 20-30 Lacs per year for tuition.

Scholarship categories: A – Merit (10-20% tuition waiver) B – Government scholarships SC/ST/OBC, C – Economically Weaker Sections (EWS). Eligibility: GPA, NEET rank result, family income. Scholarship amounts: UG courses INR 50,000 to 1 Lacs per year, PG courses INR 1 to 2 Lacs per annum Scholarship @ 20%. Average scholarship value: INR 75,000/year. Total scholarship outlay: INR 1.5 crores per year The student population is largely economically fragile, and 90 per cent of students require scholarships, loans, and fee exemptions.
