Thakur College of Engineering and Technology (TCET) has a fee refund policy that allows students to get a refund of fees in certain cases:If a student cancels admission before the cut-off date, the total fees minus Rs. 1,000 processing charges will be refunded within two days, or as per the guidelines of the appropriate authorities.If a student cancels admission after the cut-off date, there shall be no refund except the Security Deposit and Caution Money Deposit.The law is on the side of students who want to leave an institute mid-way and seek a refund. Educational institutes should not charge upfront fees for the entire course and refuse refunds. Courts have ruled that clauses like "fees once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances" are unconscionable and voidable.
