Computer engineering is a good field but also you are in great competition as it is the choice of most of the engineers. So you have to be updated with day to day technology, technological products as well as cheap and needy techs. Get knowledge about it, be good at all your exams, be curious about new things you learn and try to practice it. Catch up it fast, be good at your interview.

There is no clear distinction between IT and CSE in India. In India companies only sees how much skill you got, skill means extra courses other than engineering degree eg. Android, networking PHP, Ruby, Python, etc. and also you need 60 percent in B.Tech, otherwise you may face problem to get your first job.

student's counselor,

Let me first discuss the technical differences. CS takes a more balanced approach between theory and application, while IT focuses more on application. CS offers you an opportunity to learn variety of topics related to computers. IT offers you an opportunity to discover innovative uses of those fundamental concepts. CS generally require a decent background in mathematics, while use of math in IT is limited to data analysis / processing / statistics, etc. You may call IT as one of the sub-divisions of CS however there are certain things that are unique to IT like integrated programming, system administrations, maintenance, etc. While these ... Hi Javed,
As you scored a low percentage, I would recommend you to try for 11th 12th Science. Then join some JEE or state entrance classes where you can prove yourself. For applying to BE, you must score more than 50% in PCM group (i.e. Physics, Chemistry, and Maths) in 12th. There is also one option that you can do i.e. diploma or polytechnic but I think you are not eligible as your score is low. Go for 11th/12th Science field, join JEE classes, and study hard. This is the only way you can get into BE. One more thing I would like to add on is your 38% will affect you in the campus interview, as most of the companies want above 60% in... View more
