Preparation strategy for both exams is actually same. Perseverance, hard work, numericals, mock tests. Please make a timetable assigning time for study of each paper everyday. You also must assign time for exercise & Pranayam everyday. Every week try to take mock test. Get it evaluated and work on weak areas.

Read the NCERT questions once you are done with them just read Arihant, RD Sharma, etc. don't go for apps and all because this will deviate your mind. Good luck!
A few points you could follow for preparation of KVPY exam are as follows:
1) It is important to know the syllabus of the exam.
2) Manage your time well and solve as many questions as you can.
3) Take mock tests and time yourself so that you familiarize yourself with the pace at which you are working.
4) Take care of your health which should be a primary concern. If you are healthy you will be able to concentrate better, and have a better understanding of the subject matter.
5) Take help from NCERT textbooks for physics, chemistry, maths and biology.
6) Identify your weak and strong points and divide your time for preparation accordingly.

Keeping in mind for CLAT, the strategy should be such that one should focus mainly on the legal portion and GK portion as these 2 sections contain 50% marks i.e., 100 marks. If one is weak in maths than he can pay less attention to it as it contains 20 marks. And keep otther portions strong. English and the reasoning portion also consist of 80 marks.
