Yes, it helps to know the stream which we are selecting. It's a guiding concept, we get guidance from the people who have worked in the field and know more about it. They can help us in taking right decision. Fundamentally it will help, but to score more marks and get good college, it completely depends on one's hard work.

You can try Akash, Janakpuri. Though they are an English-medium institute, if you raise your problem, they will teach you in normal day to day language.
Plus, they will help you improve your English as in engineering. Almost every lecture is taught in English only
or else you can join any local institute.
All the best.

Yes, you can but the problem is in event management. You have to roam around with your college for doing events. So, maybe hectic for you and won't get much time. So, you can do one thing. Start preparing from 2nd year and go for full time classroom session.

No, NCERT books are important, but they are not sufficient to prepare for the WBCS Mains exam. The WBCS has such a broad syllabus that you will need to study additional standard textbooks to prepare for this exam. The NCERT books for classes VI to X provide a good overview of the fundamentals of general awareness subjects, particularly for the prelim stage, but they cannot be relied on entirely. You need to study additional books such as:
1. Spectrum Publication and Jiban Mukhopadhyay's Swadesh Sabhyota for history
2. Arvind Kumar and state geography books for geography
3. Nitin Singhania for Indian Economics and Joydeb Sarkhel... View more

While preparing for VITEEE, most of the students opt for mock tests, since it will help them to know how the entrance examination will actually be held. The pattern of the VITEEE mock test will be similar to the real exam, which will allow the candidates to become familiar with the pattern, duration and more. Mock tests will also help the students to know the important topics and recurring questions. Students are advised to regularly practice with the mock test so that they identify their commonly made mistakes and correct them before the exam. Time management can be practised.

Creating a timetable is very important during the preparation process since it will allow the students to understand the time that they are left to complete the syllabus and be prepared for the examination. While preparing the timetable, the students should ensure that it should be personalized and as per their abilities. Students are advised to divide the subjects and topics into different slots so that the studying process does not become monotonous. The timetable should also have enough time for mock test, revision and previous year papers.

No, doing this can be one of the harmful decisions that you are going to make in your GATE preparation. Instead, give attention to all the topics and chapters equally. You can start with the high-weightage topics and chapters in GATE first, but also try to give at least an hour per day to go through the lower weightage topics. Look for what sort of questions are asked in previous years, whether they are theoretical or numerically-based. Prepare according to that. By doing this, you are exercising a balanced GATE preparation.
