College Selection Expert,

Hello Tejaswini,
The CS engineering programme usually deals with how to build micro processors, how to write a compiler etc. IT is the business side of computers - usually dealing with databases, business, and accounting. One way to think of it is that IT deals with the application of computing technology to real life processes and CSE deals with the Science that facilitates these applications.
Further, while CSE focuses on the foundation of computing, IT as a discipline focuses on satisfying the computing technology needs of organisations. So, in a continuum between principles and application, IT focuses more on application, with... View more

Engineer | Author,

If you are a computer science student and interested in the computer field, you can choose BCA course which is totally related with computer Science.
If you want to go in the field of engineering then you can also take admission in the engineering field. To take admission in the engineering you need to appear in the engineering entrance examination like IIT JEE, KIITEE, VITEEE, ORJEE, WBJEE, etc. So, this is your own career. So, decide any thing by yourself.

The position you secured in Mains at rank 163649 negatively affects your potential to attend prestigious CSE or ECE colleges. You have the chance to secure entrance into some private and government-aided institutions. Candidacy at Galgotias University costs 1.59 Lacs annually while Sharda University demands 1.74 Lacs annually in fees. You can enroll in IIMT College of Engineering located in Greater Noida that charges INR 1.12 Lacs annually or attend JRE Group of Institutions situated in Greater Noida for INR 1.25 Lacs per year. Check admission requirements and payment schedules since they differ between institutions.

If you have given IEMJEE, then you can take admission through it. But, if you have not given IEMJEE, you need to talk to the admission office with your WBJEE or JEE Mains rank. You can get admission in this procedure. But, you need to remember that you can't get admission through WBJEE counseling process. You need to directly approach the admission office for admission through WBJEE.
