Both B.Tech CSE & IT degrees are equally good. CSE graduates have a minor edge over IT graduates. CSE graduates get both Apps and System development job. Indian IT industry give only Apps development job to IT graduates. B.Tech CSE graduates may also get little better CTC in comparison to IT graduates if they are from reputed Engineering colleges.

It is relatively easier to compete for CSE jobs, while studying ECE. CSE preference may be there for few high profile jobs like Cisco, Microsoft, Google and so on. At the same time, ECE students will have an edge for telecom jobs. So, go for the branch which really interests you.

From placements perspective, CS is a better option than IT. CS includes software languages and concepts (generally) dealt in IT industries. IT companies prefer CS over IT.

Based on your board marks, you may not get any good colleges, you will have to take any entrances, and for Bangalore, you need to take COMEDK exam, yeah there is management quota seats but for this, you need to talk to the college management.

At IITs and BITS you may be required to clear GATE examination or equivalent. Abroad, you will have to clear IELTS/TOEFL or GRE as required by the university of study with the required score to get admissions in a foreign university.
