I don't think it is a good idea to drop a year for the preparation of NATA. Maybe a month of dedicated practice is more than enough to crack NATA.

In IPU, questions are not tough. They are of the basic level so if you have good basics knowledge of each subject then you able to score good marks in it. So for this, you need to follow these books only.
For chemistry-NCERT CLASS 11th and 12th.
For physics-NCERT CLASS 11th and 12th and HC VERMA
For mathematics-NCERT CLASS 11th and 12th and R.D Sharma
