There are many courses you can do with B.Com to increase your job opportunities like CA, CWA, CS and CFA etc. You can also learn computer applications like Tally, Oracle Financials and SAP Fico for better options.
Apart from all these courses, if you are interested in banking sector or SSC then you can prepare for competitive exams while you study B.Com final year instead of preparing after B.Com completion to avoid the delay.
If you are very much keen about accounting then I can suggest you to join for CA, since you did not yet complete your B.Com, you have to write CA-CPT exam to be eligible to do the CA. Try to make sure that yo... View more

Both are different fields.
First, you have to think in which field you are more passionate. If you like accounts and do more study in particular subject then choose CA. And if you are more creative then go with fashion designing. Think a lot then decide.

I studied for CPT just for 15 days and got 168 in this December attempt. It is a very easy paper provided, you have good accountancy and mathematics base. Last 7-8 days must be only for practice manual because ICAI is too busy in making IPCC and a final paper that they just copy paste questions from practice manual for CPT.

The subjects you study will be same for both. If you are considering simply do the graduation then you can select B.Com but with B.Com honours you can specialise in one of your subjects for example accounts, etc. I would say taking B.Com honours would be better for your future studies, it will make the cousre for eg - you take MBA in future then that honours part will make it easier for you to understand the subject because you would already have maximum knowledge of that subject.

If you are in doubt, then don't choose Science. For Science, you need your full dedication and make up your mind accordingly. Students who choose Science are 100% sure in their ability and have proper goals for their career. If you don't think you can handle Science then don't choose it. ACCA has the same career prospects as a CA in India. You can practice accounting in any company you wish. You can join consulting companies like Deloitte and PwC, or any other company. A starting salary of 4 LPA is what you can expect initially. The best thing about ACCA is you can get a good number of opportunities abroad whereas CA doesn’t have as many opportunities abroad.
Again the problem with ACCA is, in India companies prefer a CA because they are well acquainted with accounting practices followed in India and are familiar with local laws. But, that doesn’t mean that ACCA has no opportunity. Start your career, work hard, you... View more
