It depends on you, what you like the most. If you are interested about machines and automobile, then you can go for mechanical engineering. If you are asking about job opportunities, then I will suggest you to choose mechanical or civil engineering because these are the core branches and there are huge job opportunities in government and private sector.

Best college for CSE is IIT Bombay. For this, you have to get rank under 100 in JEE Advanced.
In private, you can apply BITS Pilani, VIT Vellore.

You should apply for colleges like LPU, SRM, etc.
If you score good marks in class 12th to satisfy the eligibility criteria and perform well in the entrance test conducted by the college, you will get admission.

Some of the private universities such as BITS Pilani, BIT Mersa, VIT, SRM, Manipal University, etc. are far better than state government colleges for doing B.Tech CSE. These could be your choices along with IITs, NITs and IIITs.

difference is that CSE is totally based on computers and ECE is an electrical line.
according to me CSE will require more hard work as you have to study coding and learn programming which is a hard task to complete.

One way is to go for polytechnic and then take admission directly into second year of B.tech with computer science. Personally I would not recommend you to go for polytechnic. You better go for 12th and take admission into B.tech with CS.

Ravi, The main focus of B.Tech in Information technology is on computers and technology. It differs from Computer Science engineering in the aspect that in this the student is expected to learn management and information theory. It includes a detailed study of programming and of the software computer. 1) Blind Coding (Turn off the monitor and let people code)
2) Workshops and lectures on Photoshop, Competitive Programming, Artificial Intelligence, Web Development, Data Science, Hacking, Neworks, Android.
3) Scavenger Hunt (Based on code, DE-CODE the code and find some object or place and click picture of that)
4) Quiz Competition.
5) Robotics Competition such as bot fighting, follow the line.
6) Debug the code
7) Identify the language (Give the syntax of different languages and participant has to identify the language). .
