For the preparation of JEE Mains and other examinations conducted by CBSE, you need to be very thorough with the syllabus of NCERT of standard 11th and 12th. Apart from that, you also need to solve a good number of MCQs from a standard book.
You should refer to the following books: HC Verma, Arihant, A Das Gupta for PCM respectively. Make your concepts clear on time without any hesitation. If you want to join a coaching institute, go for a good one and be regular in your studies. Solve previous years question papers as much as you can as they will help to make sure that you get the in-depth knowledge of the subject.

Hi,
Books published by S. Chand and A. S. Agarwal are enough to crack the MAT exam.
All the best
What is your branch?
physics- Irodov
Maths -TMH
Chem.- Prabhat Kumar(inorganic)
P. Bahadur- Physical chem.
O.P Tondon- organic
Note: use these books only after reading and understanding line by line of ncert especially for inorganic.
for maths, i suggest don't use ncert, also don't use r.d sharma ( consists more than what required for boards and less than that required for mains and advance).
Use arihant series( mains+advance) then only use TMH( advance).
TMH confuse students, it consists questions that looks easy but those who have not practiced enough problems for boards and mains don't use TMH.
Below mentioned are some of the top coaching institutes offering CAT coaching in India:

Hello Vinay,
It's actually not an issue at all if you are studying in a school having CBSE pattern. This is so since the syllabus is exactly same for both the exams. However, if you are studying in class 12th from some other board the syllabus could be little different. In this case, you have to study a bit more. Of course, over and above all this, you have to study for other subjects for class 12th board exams which are not in JEE Mains. Study all the subjects every day. Assign some of the time for exercise too.
If you want to go to the coaching then, FIITJEE, Boring Road, Patna centre is the best in Bihar. Then, after followed by Resonance, Kankarbagh centre.
All the best>
You need to crack JEE Mains and JEE Advanced exam with near to perfect score and get good AIR. You need to score more than 85 percent marks in class 12th board exam. Keep your concepts clear, and work hard.
Hello Hari,
Ideally, the best place is home only. However, Kota marched ahead of all centers and now Hyderabad too has come up in a big way. But first amongst boys & girls are from Udaipur and Nashik respectively. Where there is will there is a way.
Dear Mausam,
According to me, you should concentrate on your current course i.e. B.Sc because it is very important for you. After that, if you have sufficient time left, you can start preparing for CAT. Plan accordingly. All the best.
You can learn vocabularies, aptitude, general knowledge and reading comprehension. You can try to solve problems in shortcuts, work on more problems, manually it will help you.
