St Joseph's College of Commerce is a highly reputed Commerce college in the country. It is 130+ years old institution. It ranks top 8th in India and top 2nd in Bangalore after Christ University. There would always be a rush to get admission in Joseph's. The cut off too is high for B.Com. It is around 90% for General Merit, 75% for SC/ST and for Christian Catholic it is easy to get admission with 60% as Joseph's is a Christian minority College.

No, if you have failed in Part-1 ATKT (Allowed to Keep Term) in Economics, you are not eligible to appear for M.Com Part 2 as the eligibility criteria for M.Com Part 2 usually require candidates to have passed all the papers of M.Com Part 1. To be eligible to appear for M.Com Part 2, you need to clear all the papers of M.Com Part 1, including the economics paper in which you have failed in the ATKT. I would say both are good. However, since in Gargi the curriculum is stricter, the classes happen more regularly. The commerce department is good both in Gargi and Ramjas. Since Ramjas is more politically active the classes get somewhat hampered but the overall discipline of the curriculum doesn't get compromised. Gargi on the other hand is more of an academic college, and all in all, a lot of professionalism is maintained.

The grant and non-grant are regarding the course. The course which is aided by the goverment is called grant and the course which is done privately one is a non-grant course.
B.Com is a grant course.
