CSE (Computer Science and Engineering) and IT (Information technology) both are quite similar in some or the other manner. I always have come across students who are confused between these two fields because of the lack of the understanding of the minute differences and similarities between the two engineering streams.

Hi,
As your JEE Mains percentile is 68.8 and your OBC category rank is 129906, so it will be difficult for you to get CSE branch in Tezpur University. I will suggest you to participate in the counselling process and wait till the last round. At the same time apply for some other colleges also. Best of luck.

Since CSE is the most demanded course at BITSAT, the cut off is generally higher. You need to have at least 390 and above to get a seat for CSE. However, the cut off marks vary every year.

As per me, CVR is the best college for CSE.
The companies which come to the college are mainly for CSE.
There is great opportunity to get placed with high package, as well as to learn.
There is an apple lab to work on IOS as well.
Most of the colleges don't provide such an extraordinary opportunity.

VNITian,

First of all, there is a big difference between percentage and percentile. JEE score this year is in percentile and 61 percentile is not enough for CSE in NIT. Although, you can attempt the 2nd round, hope you achieve it.

Hello,
Yes, definitely you are eligible to get NIT in computer science and engineering if you scored very well and secured very good rank in JEE Mains then only you are eligible for this. Otherwise you will have to be satisfied with government colleges.
It doesn’t matter whether you take IP/CS or not.
