As CA is tough, most of CA aspirants do graduation to cover their career risk in case they are unable to clear CA. It is not necessary to do graduation degree after CA for job or career growth. Most the universities accept CA for higher studies such as MBA.

Of course, it would be good to get any additional qualification in distance if not in regular, this will also ensure to prepare for government jobs which are issued based on PG.
I completed M.Com in distance mode but what makes the difference is not that regular or distance but our interest to learn the subject. Yes, you can change your stream easily. Actually Science stream students have an option to do commerce stream courses but commerce stream students don't have the same option. I will suggest you that the streams don't matter, always try to focus and find what you want to do and go with it.
