Hello Nitish!
Vel tech is a decent university which is a better option for engineering when you don't get a good one among the affiliated colleges.
The college might be a little strict but it is good in terms of teaching, infrastructure and placements.
To say Just for CSE, it is a good college.

It depends on the NIT or IIIT cut-off ranks for CSE branch. If you are qualified with big margins between your score to cut-off marks then there are high chances of getting the colleges. I am attaching a link in which you can predict the college that you will be getting on the basis of your rank:

Engeneering student,

Is minor difference between cse and cse(iot)
A single and double subject interfere in those branches
Phython is easy but Javascript is tough and also useful in your programing
My recommendation is you prefer cse other than cse(iot)

Hi,
Don't be depressed because I had the same rank in my counselling time and am pursuing ECE Now at SASTRA Thanjavur Campus. Luck beholds you believe. And another thing doing any course in SASTRA is a dream come true for people and you have related courses too like ICT and IT with that of CSE. Perhaps you have another option called sliding via which you can swap your departments in the first year with some other person if you have a high score. You will be briefed about it once you get into SASTRA. All the best.
