Quantitative Analyst (Credit Risk),

Dear Gaurav,
B.Tech in computer science and B.Tech in IT are somewhat same. But you can say that CSE is a much wider term. It means CSE is a set and IT is a subset. If you want specialisation in software engineering related field, then I would suggest you to go with B.Tech in IT. However, if you want the entire domain of computer and its programming with IT then you can opt for CSE. Now, the choice is yours. To be more specific again, B.Tech IT is the best for software engineering. I hope this helps. Up vote the answer if you feel satisfied.
Good luck.

175 isn't a good score if you want CSE in top colleges. You surely need 200+ and much precisely 220 because there is no board percentage. So this time we can't say what's gonna happen. Everything will be changed. By this year's JEE Main we can predict next year results. So if you really wish to be in a top college and CSE then Bro 220 is needed. I can simply give one tip to you. Know how to pick your answers. AJEE Main paper will be moderate. Expect 11 easy questions 12 to 14 moderate and 5 hard. Leave 5 hard but solve easy and moderate surely. Make sure that you solve 20 from each subject. And Bro let me say you time is important. Chemist... View more

It totally depends on your interest.
Scope: Both the branches have vast scope. Period. Research:Studying a branch is easy but to master it is difficult. And reading about Researches is one way. There are Researches going in both the subjects. It largely depends on you which topics you like. You inclination towards the research topics will determine your interest and thus your choice of branch.

Hello Srikar Katakam,
Your rank in SRMJEE is quite good. You stated that you got CSE group in college. Can you elaborate on this? Is it that you want CSE branch in SRM? It's very tough to guess as to how many students who appeared for SRMJEE will actually join since many would have appeared for other entrance exams also. What I must say us that you definitely have a reasonable chance.
Best wishes to you.
