Firstly, you should check which OS is being used in your college because it's better to stick with the technology that is being used in your college. Your college might provide you with some Rides which should be compatible with your OS. So, my suggestion is that you should wait and confirm the OS of your college and then load the same in your PC.

As far as B.Tech is concerned, education standards depends mostly on the student who's pursuing. So, either main campus or Kumbakonam SASTRA, there won't be much difference in education. Faculty are equally good in both the campuses. But the only thing is that, Kumbakonam campus doesn't have hostel facility. When coming to placements, all the students have to attend the drives only in main campus. So they'll be given equal preference depending upon the CGPA and other eligibility criteria. There's no difference in placements for both main and kumbakonam campus of SASTRA.

IIITD is the best because it's one of the 4 colleges among JAC Delhi (DTU, NSIT, LGDTUW). Its faculty, infrastructure, environment and placement records are much better. It is considered as much equal to DTU/NSIT CSE branch.

Dear Prince,
It all depends upon the company in which you are applying for or getting placed. Salary packages are offered by companies and companies hire the students who have required skills and knowledge about the job. Companies are invited by the placement cell of the particular college/university. So get admission in good college/university so that you can get placed.
You can be self-placed too but for that you need to prepare for that in terms of, experience, skills, interview session, group session or as per company requirement.
