Hi Chandrashekhar,
You've mentioned it right! UTM Shillong indeed is a good college for pursuing B.Tech in CSE.
UTM provides B.Tech degree course specialization in 2 major domains- B.Tech Oil and Gas Informatics and B.Tech Cloud Computing & Virtualization Technology.
Both the programmes are offered in academic collaboration with IBM.
As far as the Placements are concerned, UTM holds a fairly good placement record as well. Specially considering the students of B.Tech program.

The difficulty in getting a seat into Computer Science Engineering (CSE) in top/very renowned universities is that its rank is 80,000 in TS EAMCET. You may face difficulties in getting seats even in lesser-known or some private colleges. There would be tough competition from their side for some private college/university, as that institution might provide CSE seats to the candidate given this rank.

B.Tech is the best option with high opportunities. Remember, after BCA you have to do MCA which is considered equivalent to B.Tech. After completing B.Tech, you can do Ms or M.Tech which is still of a higher level than MCA.

You can get admission for B.Tech CSE at some colleges without appearing for any entrance exam. Some private institutes offer direct admission to B.Tech programs based on merit, and some conduct their own entrance exam. But it is always seen that the colleges that provide direct admissions are not among the top institutes of India. If you want to take admission in top institutes, you need to appear for entrance exams like JEE mains, but if your priority is getting a decent college, you can apply to direct admission-based institutes.
