Hello Sunil, I can understand your anxiety and angst for the admission of your son after he has completed his Diploma in mechanical engineering. Unfortunately for lateral entry directly into second year of four year degree courses every state has laid down eligibility rules indicating which branches of Diploma will be eligible for which branches of engineering degree. However there is one more option which is open to you and which will not involve losing too many years for your son. You can treat Diploma as equivalent to 12th and then clear the corresponding entrance examination for admission to the first year of Bachelor of engineering in... View more

So, as per the counseling results, you didn't get CSE in the online rounds (3 rounds) of counseling. But don't worry there are still 2 ways-
THROUGH IN PERSON COUNSELING- In person counseling will be held on 10 12 July (just keep an eye on the website to get informed in advance if any changes occur). If seats are still vacant after online rounds (which, generally, is 100% possible every year) then you'll get the branch of your choice.
THROUGH MODE 2 This is an interesting option. It has been introduced from this year itself. 30% seats are reserved for students who'll do counseling on the basis of their 12th BOARDS PERCENTAGE

Last Year (2021), first category (the lowest fees) seats of CSE in VIT Vellore ended at around 5300 to 5350. I can tell from my experience that last year, I got CSE seat in first category when there were around 26 seats remaining and my rank was around 5270. So, I guess my estimate is reasonable. But keeping in mind the fact that the minimum rank reduces every year (as it was around (5550 in 2020), I can say that you need a below 5000 rank in VITEE for getting a CSE seat in VIT Vellore in first category.
