Hello GTK, perhaps no counsellor attempted this query since the answer is not straightforward. Different colleges have different reputations. At some, the specific branch is well known to be the best. However, in the two colleges that you have mentioned, it's not like this. I would therefore suggest that you should go by their respective ranking in NIRF. It's strictly not ideal but the best one can think of. Best wishes to you.

If your MHT CET score of 81% satisfies the year cutoff requirements you have a decent chance of being admitted to MIT World Peace University (MIT WPU) B.Tech CSE (Artificial Intelligence and Data Science) program. MHT CET or JEE Main scores are used to determine admission to the program. Every year the precise cutoffs could change based on variables including competitiveness and ticket availability. At MIT WPU the entire cost of the B.Tech program is about INR 13.20 lakh. High-achieving students can also apply for scholarships depending on their MHT CET percentile.

These are the top colleges for engineering in PUNE-
COEP- But it is an autonomous college, admission procedure is different than other colleges.
VIT- Also Autonomous.
PICT
MIT
Cummins (Only Girls)
SCOE, Vadgaon. ALSO SKN. (You can also go for other sinhgad engineering colleges since the placement for all sinhgad colleges takes place together. There are about 3 more engineering colleges of Sinhgad Edu Society)
PVG
VIIT- Same education society as that of VIT but as far as I know not Autonomous.
D.Y Patil, Akurdi

But, PICT is the best for computer engineering.

Hello,
You are desirous of doing something about computers but no to CSE. Computers have different materials. You can do your research in Physics to discover newer method of putting more components in a chip. You can do research in finding thinner but stronger material by which bodies of computers is made. You can do research in LCD displays.
There are so many different ways in which you can be associated with computers without doing BE in CSE.
