To give you a just overview, after Python (R is also preferred), go through the core concepts of Maths. It helps a lot in AI. If you are doing engineering (CS/IT/ECE), you must be knowing about the technicalities behind this, like NLP, Deep Learning, Decision Tree, Stochastic Models, etc. You can start learning ML.
