Hi,
You can proceed with CSE in B.Tech but you need to study from Basic and need to work day and night for few months as it will be a new subject to you.
CSE will definitely give you high placement but it needs hard work and good study. In case of mechanical, you have to study less as compared to CSE, but in both the branches, you have to study more.

Dear Aryan,
Sorry, this rank is too low to take admission in CSE branch in Vellore institute. If you want to get admission in VIT, Vellore for CSE then you will require a rank up to 8,700 and if you want to go for IT branch then a rank up to 10,000 is a must.
Google is a nice company to aim for but don't restrict yourself to google only as there are lot of other good IT companies. Be technically strong and focus on your logical application.

Dear aspirant, Glad to meet you. It will be difficult for you to get top NITs but you will get some other NITs. Getting a seat will depend on varies factors such as number of students applied for the same branch, performance of the students, category of the students, home state etc. Congratulations for your result. You have got a very decent percentile so try to score more in next attempt at least near about 97 percentile to get CSE in any top NIT. Now talking about chances with this percentile, you have very low or to be honest negligible chances of getting CSE in any of the top nits or IIITs but still you have some sort of chances to get...
