If you like computer, want to build crazy application or something related to software go with Computer Science engineering. If you like playing with machines/motors or electricity go ahead with Mechanical engineering. Or Electrical engineering. If you are India, after studying Electronics and communication engineering most of the students gets job/work in IT companies. Only few percent gets chance in electronics companies. So I would suggest, better to study Computer Science engineering. If you want to sail through vast sea go with Marine engineering. Well in terms of branch, CS at both colleges is equally good and students get packages as high as 2530 LPA at both colleges. However, by college NIT Kurukshetra has a bigger brand name than PEC and is among the top tier colleges in the country. PEC is also very good as a college but you will have a tag of NIT. Moreover, you have excellent faculty at NIT kurukshetra with professors passed out from IITs as well (don't know of Pec). Facility at NIT Kurukshetra is also very good. All the best and take your decision wisely.

Consider other entrance exams: Some colleges have their own entrance exams in addition to JEE Main and you may be able to secure admission through those exams. Research colleges that offer CSE programs and find out if they have any other entrance exams you can take. Focus on your performance in other areas: Colleges look at a variety of factors whe... Training & Placement Officer - MIT,

The minimum eligibility criteria/industry standard criteria followed by many companies for Maharashtra is aggregate 60% & above. However, there are few companies which consider students with no academic criteria. Every college/university will try to line-up few companies to cater to below 60% or below 55% students. You need to check with your placement officer regarding the same.
