Hello, You can start cma anytime. There's no compulsion to start it after completion of cpt. I guess you can skip your cma foundation if you complete IPCC. So better you can join cma after Ipcc so that you can directly attempt cma inter which has the syllabus mostly similar to CA IPCC. Follow the below link:

Candidates passing the Common Proficiency Test will be eligible to register for the Intermediate (IPC) Course. Common Proficiency Test is the entry level exam for CA course, followed by Intermediate and Final examination. Intermediate (IPC) E & Final examinations are conducted twice a year, in May and November. You should not distract yourself.
You are already doing B.Com and preparing for ICWA. This alone is enough, if you want to do it well. In case you opt for other courses, you may get distracted and ICWA or B.Com performance can get affected.

The full form of ICWA is Institute of Cost and Work Accountants of India. There are three stages of this course. Foundation course. Intermediate course. Final courses. The application for foundation course is open throughout the year. In case of June exam, candidate must apply for exam before 31st January and for December term exam, it is 31st July. You need to be at least 10+2 pass for appearing in the foundation level exam of ICWA and once you become Graduate you can directly appear in the Intermediate and after passing it you need to do few months of article ship under a company or firm and then appear in the Final of ICWA. Hi Rakesh, As you want to get practical knowledge about accounting part, GST Returns, Payroll work & Auditing knowledge and some kind of ERP knowledge as well ( I. e tally) so I would like to suggest you that firstly you should join a CA firm where you can get the in-depth knowledge about these terms which you want to learn. After getting the knowledge, you can also apply in companies as well.

Admission process for ICWA course:
Admissions will be based on ICWAI entrance examination organized by the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI) I. e. Foundation, Intermediate, and Final exam. These examinations conducted two times in a year, I. e. June and December. Students who are seeking for applying for the entrance examinations in December month are needed to apply the latest by 30th June of the similar year. Those students want to apply for exams in June month are needed to apply by 31st December of the previous year. Regards.

If you are +2 pass, then it takes 2.5 years to complete the course in the first attempt (all stages). In case of degree passed, intermediate and final takes 2 years to complete in the first attempt.
There is no drawback, it is a professional course and feeds you for your entire life.

There are no exemptions in CMA after clearing CA exams, apart from one exemption which is, a CA pass out or an IPCC pass out is not required to give CMA foundation. So, you are only eligible to take direct entry in intermediate exams and have no need to give the foundation exam.
