If the opportunities being talked about are to be limited to main central or state government departments, opportunities may not be many. Very few departments like National Informatics Center have some that too limited opportunities. Some of the departments may recruit a few engineering graduates but only for a support role. Also, the government will consider a skill in IT /Computer Ss. as non-core and prefer to outsource. The government also recognises that their recruitment/career advancement policies are not very conducive to attract, retain and nurture talent. Since technology changes frequently and it is not easy for the government to... View more

Hi,
It is going to be very challenging with your CGPA. You can check with the colleges directly, email them, get in touch with their representatives and see. Based on your IELTS you can apply under SDS, but for general category you will need a better score.

Yes, you will get admission in CSE but in second category because CSE score rank closes in 6000-7000 rank.Let me explain you the admission system here. Rank in VIT to get admission should be 90,000, so you can get admission in VIT from the 6th category as well. There are various categories as well. With each category admission, fees go high. First category closed till 15,000 rank, and you can get CSE till 9000 rank and IT till 11000 rank, but there are 2nd category as well, if you want CSE, but you have to pay more for that. Yes, it is possible. You need only NOC certification from your previous pass out college. The chances of securing the admission in a different branch through the online process is difficult. In the counselling round, you will get the college, if there is any college left.

Hi Sachin, You have to first visit a lot of college websites in Canada, thereafter you have to check the admission requirements, fee, deadlines, etc. Since you hold a Diploma, you may not be eligible for Bachelors level courses as of now for some colleges. You may check for Advanced Diploma, etc. Also, you have to take the IELTS or TOEFL exam.

Dear,
Through NIOS, if you would get top engineering colleges then your engineering degree will help you to get good opportunities and companies. But if you did it from any average college, then it will be a good fight for job. According to me, you should consider any regular board like CBSE, ICSE or any other state board.

Hi Ishwar,
One of my friends had scored 98 percentile at our time of JEE. He was from an open category and he had got an admission in VIT, Pune. So even if there is a gap of few years, cut offs never change drastically. Depending upon category, cut off might reduce. If you are under reservation, just make sure that you have a caste certificate and a caste validity certificate along with as well.
So, don't worry! Even if you don't get Computer branch in the first round, then wait for the second one. You'll get it if you have a good enough score.
I hope this helps.
All the Best!
