As UPES is famous for petroleum engineering, it has the best placements for petroleum engineering. But also, its CSE is also very good. You can get a good placement if you are an above average student. For CS, top recruiters in UPES are LNT, Microsoft, VMware, IBM, Dell etc. The highest package offered this year was around 17-18 LPA for CS branch (in my knowledge).

You will easily get CSE in the best campus- Sec 62. CSE cut-off every year goes around 80k and your rank is far better than that. So you are surely eligible.
In a nutshell, this is a crucial difference. Historically, it was common practice to classify computer engineering as a branch of mathematics. Simply put, it comprises the following:
The integers and other discrete mathematical structures (graph theory, combinatorics, logic)
Linguistic Hypotheses for Computer Code (type theory, compilers, languages)
Information Theorems (crypto, errors, compression)
theorizing through use of computers (complexity, crypto, automatons)

As according to the last year scenario, the cut-off in Thapar University for the CSE was 98.
There is no pay difference between B.Tech CSE and B.Tech IT but sometimes B.Tech CSE may cost more in certain universities.
Well, board is not going to make any difference. 129 are good marks and I think you might able to get a good rank also but CSE normally closes with a very high rank. You can check out last year's closing rank just to be sure.
The cut off depends upon the students coming for the admission and it varies every year. That too different cut offs for different branches. I think that the expected cut off for CS should be around 200+ and for others 150+. Keep following the official website Jmi.ac. In. All the best.
Now, it is very developed and also has good placements. I am studying in the same university and course.
Yes of course. You should know that you are in one of the best colleges in Chennai. You will get placed for sure.

See this is a cause that students are fearing entering to it. Presidency is not a old institution neither they have good terms and tie-ups with any corporates for ensuring placements so it will be better to go for other options.
