Hi Kunal,
Both the colleges are very good for CSE.
NIT Trichy comes in the ranking of top NITs of India and BITS Pilani is the premier private engineering institute. However, when it comes to CSE, BITS Pilani certainly has an edge over NITT. BITS has its flagship course as CSE which is at par with the top IITs like IIT Delhi, Bombay, etc. The kind of environment and peer-learning which you get at BITS Pilani is simply phenomenal. The campus life of BITS Pilani is one of the best in India and flexibility of electives is obviously there. If I talk about placements, BITS Pilani CSE has the best placements among all other courses. So... View more

Hello Vinay,
AICTE is the agency that authorises capacity of each branch in any engineering college. Hence colleges have to play ball keeping this figure in mind. In addition college also has to keep authorised branches running. These are the dynamics under which even AIT functions. Hence answer to your query can be found in your college only. It all depends on how many students want to shift to IT & how many original IT students have failed.
Best wishes.
