Hello Avinash,
Thapar University is among top private colleges in India, so you need to score quite high in JEE Mains to get CSE there. Any score more than 160 marks is considered safe for admission.

<p>PEC Chandigarh is known for its strong placement record, especially for the BTech in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) program. Compared to other branches, CSE students at PEC typically enjoy a very high placement rate. Many leading Information Technology (IT) companies and tech giants visit PEC Chandigarh for campus placements, specifically targeting CSE students. Some examples include Microsoft, Amazon, Uber, Google, and Adobe. CSE students at PEC generally command higher average salary packages compared to other branches. The highest package offered in 2023 for all branches (Rs. 83 LPA) was likely secured by a CSE student.... View more

More or less it depends on your test. What I mean to say is if you don't like it whatever it is it will never make you happy. Just do a little research about syllabus and field application of these fields, then it will be easier for you to choose one.

As a student, I will say this college has good teaching staff and laboratory facilities. Most important is library, a fantastic collection of all kind of academic books. You will see separate sections in library for study of academia as well for competitive exams. The mess is average in taste. This year has a tough fight for placements. Good campus placements for IT and CS than other branches.

#NITian,

Thapar University once had a great reputation but not now. So, if you want to choose one of these options only, then go for the abroad option. Else you can try for your home state NIT or some low rank NIT's. Also there are some regional engineering colleges where you could get a seat.

Getting admitted to newly formed institution is of great risk, I don't know whether they will be good or not.
But, CSE of IIEST, Shibpur is a great department, be its students selected in Google Summer of Code or Linux foundation or be it Microsoft and Google placement offers. But placements are not all about the CODEIIEST society. It is also good which collaborates with Robotics Society -"ROBODARSHAN" or seminars.
It will surely develop and upgrade facilities in the upcoming years.
