No, you are not eligible for admission in VIT since you have not appeared for VITEEE. Minimum requirement for admission in VIT is 50% in PCM and below 100000 in VITEEE exam and for admission in CSE branch minimum rank is 6000 and if you are below 100000 go for the counselling for your admission.

Hello Nonu,
The admission process varies from one college to the other. The common way is to call the students for counseling programs based on the qualifying entrance exams or board exam marks. They would verify your other documents and then would give the information regarding the course once you have opted for the same.

Presidency University was established in 2015 and hence the first batch of B.Tech is yet to pass out, hence I won't be able to comment on that. But looking at the companies that came in for the MBA department, the placement for B.Tech would be really good. Companies like Zoom Cars, Thomson Reuters, etc. , visited the campus for internships.

Hi Prasanth,
You wouldn't ask this question in the first place if you really know about both SSN and PSG Tech. PSG Tech is a tier 1 college and SSN is a tier 2 college in placement, faculty, infrastructure, etc. Usually, the Chennaites who don't get PSG, GCT or CIT prefer SSN. I think both colleges provide almost equal exposure and opportunities and to answer your question - yes, PSG Tech is far better than SSN because of advantage of studying in PSG is that you will always have their brand name behind your back even after you leave the college. So, choose wisely and my suggestion for you is to choose the one which is nearest to your home.

If you are interested in pursuing CSE/IT from NIT Srinagar, keep following things in mind:
1. No shortage in attendance as such. CSE/Students are never harassed for the shortage. On the other hand, ECE guys have to put in classes.
2. CSE/IT has good placement in terms of students meeting eligibility criteria of various companies that visit here. ECE placement is average for 2013-2014 batch.
3. Permanent faculty is good in CSE/IT but not a very big number. Don't expect them to spoon feed you. ECE has a larger pool of faculty and they are good.
4. Awesome and beautiful place if you are a nature lover. Life is slower here, ... View more

At this stage, it will not be beneficial to change your mind and go for Diploma as you have been invested your precious year in B.E. I will suggest you to go with same stream otherwise you can do M.Tech in civil engineering by qualifying GATE exam which will be more fruitful for you.

Hi,
You can apply for Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, it is one of the best choices I believe if you are passionate about engineering. It has a legacy of 60+ incredible years and let me tell you it is approximately as old as IIT. Their placements have been impressive for over a period of time and in addition to that they have tie-ups with institutes like Trinity College Dublin, which offers an international degree.

Based on your question, on 140 your percentile will lie between 97-98 and your rank will be around 24,000-35,000. Given that you're a general category male student, CSE at any decent NITs will not be available to you, even if you are a home state student. However, stats and your chances may differ if you are from category or are a female student.

For last year, the closing rank for BTech in Computer Science and Engineering was 18880, which is very close to this range. This was for general category under All India quota. Unless the candidate belongs to some other category or domicile, one cannot afford to score less than this. With this rank, there is a probability of getting admission however since, the cut offs keep changing year on year, it's advisable to try to score better ranks to increase your chances of getting admission in Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra.
