Concepts will help you solve the questions, given an indefinite time-period to do so. In exams with very tight time constraints just getting acquainted with the concepts will not work that much. You need to practice and be well versed with the concepts so that you can relate & solve the question very fast. So, practice is very critical to crack CAT.

I had given December MAT and got 85 percentile. Attempted just 64 question from logics and English. I left other two. I got 58 questions correct. So my take is don't go for whole paper just go for section in which you find yourself comfortable but try to get good percentile in those too. I got 98 and 92 percentile in IR and verbal.

Basically M.A. and M.Sc. are not much different. The college decides the syllabus so both course can be same. I can't exactly tell the difference between M.A. and M.Sc.
