MA in social work is a 2-year post-graduate degree which aims to equip a candidate with the knowledge of social practices and prepares them to work for the welfare of the society. The minimum eligibility for admission to MA social work in India is a Bachelor’s degree in any stream. Admission to MA in social work in India in most of the institutes is done through an entrance test which is generally conducted in the month of June or July. However, there may be an additional round of personal interview which may be conducted by some universities.

Various government organizations like Railway, Banks, PSU, Postal and other debts under government ministries release a number of jobs for MSW candidates. MSW pass outs with specialisation in the medical field can work in hospitals, nursing homes, and rehabilitation centres. Each student undertakes 2 placements usually 80 days and 90 days respectively. They are required to be available to work full-time equivalent hours during these periods.

For M.Sc Chemistry, IIT (Indian Institutes of Science ), TIFR (TATA Institutes of Fundamental Research ), NIT (National Institutes of Technology) and IISER (Indian Institutes of Science & Educational Research) are the best options. IIT JAM Chemistry, TIFR GS 2019, etc., are the exams to enrol in any of the above-mentioned institutes.

It is very good to hear from you that you are interested in pursuing PG in SW. If only you had given more details viz your intended university, place from where you did graduation etc. I would have been able to advise better. But, still I will try. Normally speaking admission process begins for the next academic session in the month of September of previous year. Like seeking application forms for entrance exam for PG courses has been kicked off by many universities in this month for the session 2019-2020.
