Hi Rajat,
The basic difference between M.Tech (M.E) and M. S. is that M.Tech is a course centric programme focused mainly toward Industries and M. S is a research centric programme.
1. First and foremost, admission to an M.Tech programme depends on the candidate GATE score and in some case Institutes Internal tests, whereas, admission to an M. S. programme depends on the score of the entrance exam as well as the interview round.
2. In M.Tech, the student is trained to work in an industry as well as take up some research work. As far as M. S. is concerned, the students are trained to take up a career in research in an... View more

Dear Rakesh,
Which country do you intend to go to ? If it is the UK then they have only 1 year Masters, the US and Australia have 1, 1.5 & 2 years Masters, more so in Australia and less in the US, it mostly 2 years there. However if you intend to apply for PR in Australia then you have to do a 2-year program as anything of lesser duration will not get you points to qualify. From the job angle only any duration is ok. If it is the UK then select a Masters with internship as this will increase chances of employment.
MS in project management includes implementation of new projects, things to be implemented including estimated cost, implementation of new technologies, etc. whereas MS in petroleum engineering would give you a regular job. Therefore, if possible, prefer MS in project management.

Let me first say this as a practicing 'Clinical Psychologist' that there is great scope for a career in Clinical Psychology in India today. To begin with you may want to do an undergraduate course (either a BA or BA Hons) in Psychology from any of the reputed state colleges in India (better to steer clear of the likes of Amity/LPU). The admissions might be on the basis of merit or on the basis of an entrance exam, depending on which university you are applying to. The 3 year undergraduate course will (generally) have papers on General Psychology, Social Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, some Statistics and (probabl... View more
