Hi, perhaps you should first decide what to study, which stream should you choose depends entirely on your interest and career goals. Know what is best for you. As for GRE prep, it takes around 3-4 months. You can first take a mock test and see where you stand, accordingly make the study plan and stick to it. There will be certain sections which will need more preparation than the others. Keep taking regular mock test to check your progress and scores.

Additionally, if you have time, you can for geography by Goh Cheng Leong and other guide material. For economics, best would be Indian Economy by Ramesh Singh. Apart from this, Mrunal videos on economics are depth full and good for covering the entire economics syllabus.

There is no particular course which can help you crack the UPSC, SSC or any government examination. At max, it can help you in some section of the competitive examination. The subjects of BA such as history, geography, political science can help you in the general studies section of the examination. Further, you can also opt for that honours course which you are planning to take as an optional subject in the civil services examination.
If you give your 100% and work really hard, you can definitely crack GATE within 6 months. You should get a good private tutor to guide you and give online mock tests for GATE to know how is your preparation. There are many books available in the market. Select the best suited for you. Study at least 10 hours a day. This all will lead you to reach your goal surely.
