CAT is more known than XAT, MAT, CMAT. SNAP and IIFT are college specific.

CAT is not the toughest exam. XAT is more difficult in terms of the questions and content. But, CAT is more competitive because more number of people are competing for proportionately fewer seats.

There are various MBA entrance exams one can give, depending upon the B-school one wants to target for admission. Generally, they include questions based on GK, mathematics, English and logical reasoning. Some includes negative marking as well. Majority of them are computer-based tests with objective type questions.
The top entrance exams conducted in India are as follows, with some of the top B-schools accepting its scores mentioned alongside:
1. CAT: All IIMs, SP Jain, MDI, JBIMS, etc.
2. XAT: XLRI, XIMB, SP Jain, etc.

That depends upon, which exam you wants to give for MBA. There are different exams for different institutes. CAT is the exam in India for MBA but there are many more exams available.

It is an entrance exam for most of the MBA colleges in India . but the premium bSchools take exams like CAT, XAT, SNAP, NMAT . etc . it's always preferable to go through these exams .
