Hi Mayank,
With 470 marks, getting a government college is difficult. But you may expect some private colleges for MBBS & BDS. You must attend the counselling. All the best. Feel free to revert.

To get admission into Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS), BHU for MBBS through NEET UG 2026, you require a high mark, particularly under the All India Quota (AIQ). Going by past trends, General category applicants normally need 675+ marks, OBC applicants 660+ marks, and SC/ST applicants 580+ marks. These cutoffs differ annually based on difficulty, number of seats available, and competition. As IMS BHU is one of the best medical colleges, target 680+ marks to be on the safe side. Remain consistent with NCERT, solve mock tests, and go through them properly to reach your goal.

For preparation, Biology should take majority of your day, 2-3 hours minimum for ncert revision. For Chemistry and Physics less time should be taken on learning new stuff and more time on practicing questions.
200 questions a day for Biology and 50 each for Physics and Chemistry a day. During the exam itself, it is recommended that 45 minutes max for 90 bio questions, 1 hour for Chemistry and 1.15 hour for Physics.

172 in NEET is too low to get MBBS in India. BDS in a private college with high fee might be possible. If you want to do MBBS, you can consider MCI listed government medical universities abroad. To get free admission guidance for MBBS abroad, you can register yourself here:

You may be able to gain admission to both private medical institutions and medical universities if you receive 225 on the NEET exam. The cutoff will be quite high in some states (like Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Delhi) and low in other states (like Jharkhand, Goa).
