It's always good to prefer B.Tech over courses like B.Sc as it would give you more opportunities. However it also depends on the university you are studying in. Also you do have a course like B.Tech Biotechnology, which you can consider. Companies also prefer engineering graduate over B.Sc or other courses. Suggesting you some good colleges also-

Arts, Humanity and Commerce are very different branches as Science. Yes, it is difficult to get into Science and Engineering if one doesn't have a pre base. There are lot of examples of people switching from science to arts but not vice versa. This is because the complexity cannot be understood by self.
A person should be sure of what to do while choosing streams. The longer the correct career clicks, the more difficult it is.
