No, ACT is not available as the "remote" exam. Test takers must take the ACT test at a nearby test centre on a device managed by the test centre.

If the applicant mistakenly reaches the wrong ACT exam centre right before the exam begins, he/she should try and reach the correct exam centre as soon as possible. It's important to check the details of the ACT exam centre beforehand and if possible one should go and check out the exam centre a day or two before the date of exam to avoid such lat minute confusions. One must know where to reach, in how much time and through which medium of transportation at the ACT exam centre.

Yes, SAT exam pattern differs from ACT exam pattern in a big way. Check out below how SAT pattern differs from ACT pattern:

  • ACT consistes of four sections, while SAT consists of only two sections.
  • There is no optional essay section in SAT exam, it has been discontinued. Students can still opt for the optional writing section on ACT.
  • SAT is scored on a range of 400-1600 while ACT is scored on 1-36 score range.
  • ACT has a separate Science section, whereas SAT doesn't test Science subject separately but in its reading section.

Arkansas State University expects a ACT score of 550 on evidence-based Reading or Writing from UG applicants. Along with the ACT score, students must submit the SAT score with the minimum eligibility score of 21 total and on both the Reading and English sections. Along with these standardized test scores, students must submit the official transcripts of all the previously attended schools, and prove their English language proficiency by submitting the scores of IELTS, TOEFL, and PTE.

Do not retake the ACT just for the sake of it, go for a retest if you are convinced that your score will improve. If your score is less than the targeted score, in that case you can retake the ACT after more preparation. You can retake ACT when you have enough time in hand also to appear for another exam before applying to universities abroad and also have some extra preparation along with the previous knowledge is then sensible to appear for the ACT exam for the second attempt or beyond.
