All the NITs are equally good and holds a good placement record as well. NIT Rourkela is good enough for Computer Science and engineering. It has a good infrastructure, and good faculty members as well. It holds a good placement record. The companies like Dell, Microsoft, SAP Labs, Direct, PwC India, Goldman Sachs, HP, NCR Corporation, Oracle Apps, Cloud, Financial Services, Samsung, Ericsson So placement wise its good that's the only thing that matters in the end and academics wise it completely depends on you. The average package is around 7-8 LPA. The highest package is around 11-12 LPA which can also increase more. In NIT Allahabad the average package is around 8 LPA ; NIT Kurukshetra also has average package of 7-8 LPA. NIT Jaipur also has average package of 7-8LPA. The highest package of all is 12 LPA, it increases to more also depending on the company which visit. Hence All the college of NIT is good enough. NIT Rourkela has been ranked as 15th by NIRF in 2018. All the best for future. Thank you

As you are interested in Mechanical engineering as well as computer Science engineering. Then, NIT Rourkela is the best option. NIT Rourkela has good opportunity for both mechanical engineering as well as computer Science engineering. But, it depends on your interest that which branch you choose. Both the branch has equal importance and holds equally best placement records. Core companies like Tata steel, Vedanta, Tata motors, Maruti - Suzuki, Mahindra & Mahindra and many more visit our campus every year and recruit meritorious students as Graduate engineer Trainees. Sometimes PSUs also come NIT Rourkela because it is one of the top NITs. Fortunately last year Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) visited our campus. Average package of Core Company is more than 8 LPA. The companies like Microsoft, Dell, HP, oracle apps, Samsung, Ericsson, NCR Corporation, SAP labs etc. Visit the campus and recruit students.
