As per data curated from unofficial sources, the Amherst College has an acceptance rate of a meagre 9-10%, i.e. the institute is only known to accept about 1 application for every 10 it receives.
Interested applicants are therefore required to perform really well as part of school & college level academics & demonstrate the ability to lead & participate in teams over both academic & non-academic events.

Amherst is popular among domestic & international students alike for a number of reasons such as: diverse student population, quality financial aid programs & a decent placement record.
The institute's overall student population comprise of around 16% international students, while other races/ethnicities in the US such as African Americans, Hawaiians, Latins & Multiracial people are also well represented.
Its overall placement rate for the Graduate Class of 2024, stood at 74.7% & around 57% of its overall student population were recipients of financial aids.

Yes, a degree from Amherst College is considered valid in India, since the institute is accredited by prominent bodies such as New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE).
The institute's most recent accreditation came in 2019, & its the latest upcoming accreditation is scheduled for spring of 2028, as per an official media release by Amherst.

Amherst College asks for a standard application fee of USD 75 (INR 6,400) from all first-year applicants.
The application fee is non-refundable & is mandatory to be paid during the application process, without which the application cannot go through for consideration.
The institute advises students to file respective applications as early as possible to leave enough time for document verification & VISA processing.
