First of all we need to be sincere that we won't miss any examination because it reflects that how serious we are with our studies. So, they just need to make the professors aware about that situation and should have a genuine reason like poor health or something uncertain occured and a signed application so that further they can appear in the examination . 

It's rare that a student fails in internal exams as it used to be easy enough to clear.
