Hi,
* 2-D animation is one in which the characters and surroundings are created on a flat plane of two dimensions, unlike the three dimensions of computer animation. It can be as simple as a flip-book or as sophisticated as one of the Disney hand-drawn animated classics.
* As a skilled animator you need to learn how to bring realistic life to visual effects, 2D images and 3D objects. There will be a need to develop highly skilled techniques by learning anatomy through molding bone, skin and other physical features.
* After completing the course, you can work on full length animation movies or any other related fields such as television

Compared to other 3 year graduation degrees, animation and gaming may offer an early start to the career. Most other streams require you to go for masters, whereas these fields allow good artists an early start to their careers. You mst remember that most (all) professional careers require internships (learning under a mentor), so likewise students who skip this step may suffer. I could tell you that XYZ Institute is one of the best and go read online about it. I could tell you to search the youtube for 'best animation faculty' or 'best animation institute'. However these are only some of the methods of shortlisting. There is no such authentic one list of institutes that i can give you.
