You can be a pilot regardless of your stream in class 12th, you just to pass Physics and Maths in class 12th, in case you did not have these subjects in class 12th you will have to apply to National School of Open Learning and appear for an exam and get a passing certificate for the particular subject. In your case you had Physics, but not Maths, so to be able to be eligible for Commercial Pilot License course you will need to clear a math exam from NIOS first.

Yes, Diploma in mechanical engineering students are eligible for AME(HA/CT/LA/PE) course. Aircraft Maintenance Engineering mechanical stream is related with heavy aircraft (HA), Light Aircraft (LA) and Jet Engine(CT), Piston Engine(CP). This is of 3 years course divided into 6 Semester. AME Course consists of theoretical and practical training. Intake capacity of student is 60 in particular stream in a year.
Eligibility Criteria: Minimum qualification for the AME course is 10+2 with 50% aggregate in physics and mathematics or Diploma certified recognized by AICTE or any certificate acceptable to DGCA as equivalent diploma in mechanic
