With 138 marks in LPUNEST, eligibility for B.Tech Aerospace Engineering depends mainly on the branch‑wise LPUNEST rank and category cutoff, not just the raw score. Recent trend data shows that Aerospace usually has a higher cutoff band, so 138 is generally on the lower side for that branch. Meeting the basic 10+2 PCM requirement (around 60% marks) is necessary but may not be enough for Aerospace specifically. For a clear answer, it is best to check the latest LPUNEST branch‑wise cutoff list and personal rank on the official LPU site.

Thapar mainly offers B.Tech through 10+2 (PCM) route, not lateral entry into all branches. And aerospace isn't a standard core branch there.
What you can do:
- If you want Thapar → go through 12th (PCM) + JEE route
- Or look for colleges that offer lateral entry after diploma (but even there, branch change to aerospace can be tricky)
So yes, possible path exists — but not directly from your current diploma into aerospace at Thapar.
If aerospace is your goal, better to plan the path carefully from here.

Placement records for Aerospace Engineering at Lovely Professional University are decent, but they are more limited compared to branches like CSE or IT.
Core aerospace companies visit in smaller numbers, so many students also get placed in related sectors like mechanical, manufacturing, or IT roles. LPU provides good training, internships, and placement support, which helps improve opportunities. Compared to many private colleges, LPU still offers better exposure and placement assistance, but in this field, your skills and projects play a very important role in securing good jobs.

Students who qualify in JEE Main bring demonstrated academic preparedness, which can be advantageous during counseling for Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Aerospace Engineering at Chandigarh University. Although admission is not exclusively dependent on JEE rank, a good percentile can strengthen your overall standing. In competitive scenarios where multiple applicants seek the same branch, stronger academic indicators may help in preference allocation. Additionally, 5% of engineering seats are reserved for JEE-based scholarship candidates, offering potential tuition fee concessions to high scorers. This creates both academic and financia
