To become a commercial pilot:
You need to first possess a student pilot license. You must be over 17 years of age and have completed class 12th with science (physics and mathematics) with 50%.
Your vision in one eye must be perfect. In general medical terminology, it is called 6/6 eyesight. In the other eye, you could have an imperfection of 6/9, which must be correctable to 6/6.
General physical fitness is mandatory. You must be free of any disease that can hamper normal function.
You need to register at a flying club which is recognized by Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Government of India.
Next is private pilot license which includes sixty hours of flying. A commercial pilot licence can be obtained only after a PPL and 250 hours of flying.
Some of the institutes offering commercial pilot training are:
1. Academy of Carver Aviation Private Limited, Pune.
2. All India Institute of Aeronautics, Dehradun.
3. Center for Civil Aviation Training (CCAT), Delhi.
4. Glorietta Aviation, Ghaziabad.

The aviation sector, global transportation system to carry cargo goods & passengers is ideally very established globally. Indias civil aviation industry is also on a high-growth. India aims to become the third-largest aviation market by 2020 and the largest by 2030 with the major investments happening & flux created by various government initiatives. Despite the setback a few years ago, The careers opportunities with the Aviation industry are also equally at boom as they are many travel providers with multiple career opportunities such flight attendant jobs, airline administrative support, avionics technicians, flight dispatcher, ground / airport station attendant, aviation meteorologist, ramp planner, reservation sales agent, flight instructor, aviation attorney etc.

Commercial pilot license is the required qualification to start a career as pilot in passenger and cargo flights. You should complete class 12th with minimum 50% in PCM for admission. It will take one year to complete the course.
The course is focused on both theory and practical. Theory consists of airline and aviation basics, aviation rules, navigation system, structure and troubleshooting of various air crafts, etc. There will be minimum 1000 hours practical fly training in various air crafts.
There is another pilot license called as Private pilot license/ PPL. Class 12th is the basic criteria for this course and PCM combination is not mandatory. But, only private flights, helicopters, etc. can be operated with this license.
