An education in aviation opens up many different job possibilities. There are various courses available related to aviation management.
The aviation industry works on cargo & passenger travel. All departments are related to provide services for cargo & passenger travel. Ground functions include Airport Operations, Reservations & ticketing and even sales & marketing. Job options depend on the type of course done. Aviation being a broad field, there are many opportunities in this sector. You can expect to be qualified for a job as an accident investigator, air traffic controller, airline manager, aviation attorney, maintenance manager, or safety inspector. Aircraft manufacturers, airports, cargo airlines, colleges/universities, medical airline transports, private airlines, professional development centers, and tourism boards are some of the places that hire people with experience in aviation management.
Some of the top airlines companies like Sahara India, Kingfisher Airlines, Jet Airways, Indian Airlines etc. take candidates trained through professional aviation courses. Besides career prospects in India, there are plenty of job opportunities in the aviation sector abroad in international airlines like Lufthansa, Emirates, Qantas, Singapore Airlines, etc.

Advantages (in no particular order of merit):
Being able to fly an airliner is pretty cool.
The view from the flight deck can be breath-taking.
You get to travel the world for free.
Many opportunities to sample global cuisine if you love food.
You never have to bring your work home with you, other than studying/preparing for your check-rides/sims.
You have sufficient time to yourself to pursue your hobbies/interests. There are quite a number of us who are full-time businessmen/hobbyists, part-time pilots. (said partially tongue in cheek)
The salary and benefits are pretty decent. You won't be considered rich, but you're hardly wanting.
When you're back in base, you can get stuff done/hang out during off-peak hours and beat the crowds.
Disadvantages:
Erratic sleep/rest patterns and jet-lag.
Sometimes, you have no choice but to be away during special occasions. (There are ways to mitigate this)
Public perception that the autopilot can completely replace pilots, hence we are redundant and overpaid.
The airline business is very volatile and almost everything affects it for e.g. fuel price, wars, diseases, terror threats, volcanic eruptions.
