To become an airline pilot you need to complete your training flying hours and exams to get CPL, It depends on you that how fast you complete your hours and exams, It takes minimum One Years to do all things

There is no need for drop your commerce studies, you can complete your 12th Science from open schooling like from NIOS on demand exams and get enrol in CPL course.

Yes, an aerospace Engineer can become a pilot. He needs to do the pilot training and complete CPL course, because Aerospace engineering is different from flying aircrafts.

For getting promotion in pilot job you need to upgrade your license like from first officer to Sr. first officer, you need to complete your minimum flying hours
From Sr. first office to captain you have to clear the captain exam with minimum flying hours

For being a commercial pilot you need to do CPL training, there is no contact between B.Sc Aviation and CPL. Yes it may help you in getting job but no fee concession will be there.
