The basic difference between a BDes in Fashion Design and a BDes in Textile Design is that Fashion Design focuses on every element of fashion, including accessories, fashion trends, style of draping, etc. It includes a few subjects related to textile science.
On the other hand, BDes Textile Design is only focused on the Textile-related subjects and does not have a comprehensive approach to Fashion. BDes Textile Design subjects include Fabric Ornamentation, Garment Grading, Material Studies, etc.

Hi, a portfolio is not mandatory to be eligible for BDes in Fashion Design program. Since BDes is an undergraduate program, portfolios are mainly required for higher education and job interviews.
A portfolio contains your work samples, designs, work experience, achievements, etc. However, it is good to start maintaining it once you complete your Class 12, if you're interested in the Design field.

This holds more ground in professional or design disciplines, where experience is more precious than qualification.
A legacy appointment was made before these rules came into effect-based requirement for the Ph.D. stipulated by the UGC effective July 202
