B.Sc Eligibility

For admission to the BSc programme at INSD Kolkata, the candidate must have passed class 12. INSD Kolkata inducts candidates for the BSc programme based on their marks in class 12. Selected candidates are required to report to the admission cell at INSD Kolkata for document verification and fee payment leading to final seat allotment.

Yes, there is an upper age limit to apply for BSc. Candidates from the General category can be of a maximum of 25 years and the upper age limit for candidates from SC/ST is 28 years.

To be eligible for BSc programme, candidates must have passed Class 12 or its equivalent from a recognised board with English as one of the compulsory subjects. Final selection for the same is based on a valid score obtained in NCHMCT JEE.

Such candidates will be eligible for application in either of the programmes via TMISAT, if you are less than 21 years as on date of commencement of the course of the year of admission and you have secured at least 60% marks in PCM group in 10+2 exam.

In general, having studied Mathematics in your class 12th is a strong indication that you meet the foundational requirements for admission to a B.Sc. programme in Mathematics and Statistics. Mathematics is usually a core subject for such programs, and having a background in it is often a prerequisite.

Candidates who have passed Class 12 or its equivalent exam can apply for BSc course. No candidate shall be allowed to offer Botany/ Chemistry/ Mathematics/ Physics/ Zoology as one of the courses/ subject unless he/she has passed the concerned subject in the qualifying examination
