Not really, you can pursue BA in Political Science through direct mode. No need to attempt for any entrance exam. Yes, many top colleges ask for entrance exams, as per the selection process, but not all the Universities ask for Entrance Exam.

As per general eligibility criteria, you should have at least 50% in either graduation or post-graduation to fill up the entrance exam form to be conducted by JMI. So, you are eligible.

You need to give an entrance exam for getting admission to top institutions private or government. Further, there are many eligibility exams, which you can give admission like CAT MAT GMAT ATMA etc. These are nationalized exams, but some of the institute have their own exams for eligibility like symbiosis, BVP etc. Further, you have to be eligible for getting admission to these top colleges.
